Overview
BOTOX is a wrinkle treatment used by North Dallas-based, TX (Frisco, Plano, Allen, McKinney) plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert Najera, to erase the frown lines between the brows and around the eyes. At our cosmetic surgery office, countless patients receive this nonsurgical wrinkle reducer, which eliminates and softens wrinkles along the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes. Sometimes, the lines that develop in the glabellar (the area between brows) can be deeper than normal forehead lines. These “11” lines can even happen to fairly youthful people, causing them to appear older. Dr. Najera can combine BOTOX with Juvéderm to give create a complete liquid facelift makeover without surgery.

Administering BOTOX
A BOTOX treatment usually takes about 30 minutes to administer. Dr. Najera will choose the amount of BOTOX and where to put it based on the patient’s goals. Most patients experience mild discomfort as the needle is placed in their skin. Numbing cream and cold compresses are used to alleviate any discomfort. Patients are allowed to leave and resume their normal activity following the procedure. After treatment, patients should sleep upright for one evening and avoid exercise for 24 hours.
Expected Cost
The cost of treatments will depend on how many syringes of BOTOX are used during the procedure. The average cost for a syringe of BOTOX usually runs between $450-$600. Dr. Najera will discuss how many injections he recommends and the cost during the initial consultation.

BOTOX Cosmetic FAQs
What Is Botox?
BOTOX is a product made from botulism, a toxin that can be injected under the skin to stop nerve impulses and relax away wrinkles. BOTOX temporarily paralyzes muscles by blocking the nerve endings.
Is It Safe?
BOTOX is FDA approved and widely used without problems by skilled plastic surgeons. BOTOX was originally developed and approved for use in patients with cervical dystonia, chronic migraine, and other health issues.
Will My Face Be Frozen?
Patients often worry that BOTOX will leave them without the ability to make a range of facial expressions. Because it works by paralyzing the facial muscles, it’s natural to wonder if you’ll lose the ability to move your forehead muscles. However, with BOTOX, you’ll still be able to show a full range of emotions, and no one will have to know you’ve had a cosmetic treatment performed. This nonsurgical procedure offers amazingly natural results. In fact, the majority of our patients that receive BOTOX injections come back regularly for additional treatments.
Will It Last?
Full results from a BOTOX injection will be seen within a few days of treatment, and the results can last as long as 4 months. It is common for our patients to make regular trips back to our Frisco cosmetic surgery office to freshen up with a new round of BOTOX. This treatment can also be used to help maintain the beautiful results of treatments like a brow lift or facelift.
