Overview
Flat and sagging buttocks happen after weight loss and as part of natural aging. Butt augmentation is used to create a rounder shape and add volume to the buttocks with a fat transfer or silicone implant. Plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert Najera, performs butt augmentation surgeries at an accredited facility in Frisco, TX (also serving Plano, Allen, McKinney & surrounding areas) using fat transfer or high-quality silicone implants to safely enhance the buttocks based on each patient’s goals. Patients should be at or near a healthy, stable weight before and after the procedure for the best results.

Surgical Technique
Dr. Najera will decide with the patient during the initial consultation whether fat transfer or silicone implants will be used for the butt augmentation. If fat from the patient’s own body is used, this is known as a “Brazilian butt lift”. If a silicone implant is used, the shape and size will be determined by the patient before the procedure begins. The implant will be fitted to the patient and placed over the bone, but under the existing muscle tissue of the buttocks. Dr. Najera uses the latest technology to ensure that the final position looks natural and is safe for the patient.
During/After Surgery
Most patients need 2-3 weeks of rest after butt augmentation with silicone implants. Patients should expect to have bruising and swelling in the buttocks area for a few days. Pressure and weight should be kept off of the buttocks, so the thighs and abdomen need to be used sitting or lying down. Most patients are able to resume light activity 1-2 weeks after the surgery and may exercise after 6 weeks. The incision for a butt augmentation is usually made between the butt checks, so scars will be naturally concealed.
Expected Cost
Butt augmentation with a silicone implant will usually cost between $9,500 and $12,000. If the butt augmentation is done with a fat transfer after liposuction, the price will be higher.

Butt Augmentation FAQs
How Natural?
Dr. Najera uses high-quality silicone implants so your butt augmentation will look and feel like your own gluteal muscles. The final results after the swelling has subsided will be as natural as if you had spent weeks of doing squats at the gym!
Natural or Synthetic?
In the initial consultation, Dr. Najera will discuss the differences between a fat transfer and implant for butt augmentation. Natural fat is a good option if the patient has extra fat on the body that can be removed and re-deposited, but the results will be temporary since the body will re-absorb some of the fat. A silicone implant is a good option if the patient does not have enough fat for the augmentation or the patient wants a permanent augmentation. Dr. Najera will help each patient chose the method that is best to achieve their goals.
What About Sitting?
Patients should not put any weight on the buttocks for the first 2-3 weeks after the surgery. The patients may resume light activity and sitting after the swelling and pain are gone. Any discomfort from pressure for the first few months can be helped with a soft pillow under the buttocks. If is normal for the implants to feel strange at first, but the implants will look and feel more natural over time.
Weight Gain?
The results of a butt augmentation with a silicone implant will be permanent if a healthy, stable weight is maintained after the procedure. Any serious weight gain will affect the results by altering the shape and contour of the buttocks. Dr. Najera encourages patients to follow a healthy diet and get regular exercise to preserve the effects of the surgery.
