Overview

The Brazilian butt lift has consistently grown in popularity over the past few years, helping countless men and women achieve the sculpted, attractive “derriere” they’ve always wanted. The procedure gets its name from the widely admired curvaceous buttocks of Brazilian women. Plastic surgeon Dr. Najera of North Dallas (Frisco, Plano, Allen, McKinney), can liposuction fatty tissue from other parts of the patient’s body and “re-inject” it into the buttocks. The end result is a posterior that’s softer, more comfortable, and much more natural looking in appearance than implants.

Surgical Technique

After removing the fatty tissue from its original location by liposuction, the fat will be transferred into selected areas of the buttocks with precision until an even, round look is achieved. Approximately 60 - 80% of the fatty tissue that is transferred into the buttocks survives. In other words, if 300cc of fat is injected into one buttock, patients can expect about 225cc to remain after the healing process. Dr. Najera uses the latest transferring techniques so that the maximum amount of fat that is removed can be safely and effectively transferred. If the skin is exceptionally loose, a patient may need a surgical butt lift (which removes the loose skin and lifts the butt up). This technique can then be followed by a Brazilian butt lift.

During/After Surgery

The results of the Brazilian butt lift can vary, but patients can expect a fuller, rounded butt. You will be given a compression garment specific for this procedure that must be worn at all times for the first week. Immediately after surgery, you will notice that your buttocks are larger. This enlargement is the result of two components: the fatty tissue from other parts of the body that will produce the permanent change and temporary swelling in the area of surgery. Patients also enjoy the body contouring effect that liposuction provides in the fat tissue donor sites.

Expected Cost

A Brazilian butt lift can cost between $9,500 and $11,500, depending on the amount of fat that is used. Additional procedures, such as a butt lift, will increase the total cost.

Butt Implants

As a result of weight loss and natural aging, the buttocks tends to become flat and saggy. Butt Implants/Augmentation is used to create a more round shape while adding volume through the use of a silicone implant or fat transfer.
